FAQs
what is a sculpt, is it right for me?
at brow baby a sculpt includes cleansing, a full mapping to suit your face and your preferences (or what i think would suit best if you have no preferences), waxing, plucking and hybrid dye. the only reason you wouldn’t be able to go ahead is if you’ve had prior allergic reactions to hybrid dyes or brow tints.
what about lamination?
a lamination is essentially a perm for your brow hairs. it’s a chemical process involving the break down and reformation of the bonds in the hair shaft. it helps everyday brow styling become easy peasy instead of a fight. you do still have to gel or brush them daily, they won’t stay how i style them permanently so it is low maintenance, not no maintenance. you can’t have a lamination done if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding or on accutane. if you have super sensitive skin prone to eczema or dermatitis a patch test is highly recommended.
what is a lash lift?
a chemical process involving the same as a lami, but for your lashes. think curled and mascara’d lashes, 24/7, for 5-7 weeks.. this is suited to everyone as the solutions don’t come into contact with the skin at all, but please note if you’re going through big hormonal changes you may not get the same results as this does affect your hair.
how long does each service last?
people always ask me how long to leave between appointments but with sculpts it’s totally up to you. if you like them looking fresh, every 4-5 weeks works perfect. however, there are no rules, you might only want your brows done every 3 months.
you can only laminate and lift every 8 weeks, but if your hairs are super fine i may recommend pushing that out to 10 weeks to maintain the perfect hair health.
what’s the aftercare?
for any waxing services you should keep the area clean and touch minimally for 24 hours. sculpts can get wet straight away but if you love your skin tint and want it to last i recommend to keep them dry for 24 hours.
laminations and lifts need to be kept dry for 24 hours. you also need to be conscious of exfoliation around the brows after a lamination as the skin can be sensitive.
can i start with a sculpt to see how i might feel about tattooing?
yes! i actually recommend this. if you don’t have heaps of brow hairs i can fill with pencil to give you an idea of what to expect if and when we go through with cosmetic tattoo.
how do i book?
the book now links, they’re everywhere..
